Turkish Earthquake Fundraising Dinner & Turkish Republic Day Reception

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Turkey last weekend. Turkish authorities and scientists are estimating a death toll between 500 and 1000. Turkish Student Association is deeply saddened by the earthquake and conveys its condolences and well wishes to victims’ families.

In response to this tragic event, Turksa will organize various fundraising activities at SUNY Albany campus. We decided to change the name of our approaching event (Turkish Republic Day Reception) as “Turkish Earthquake Fundraising Dinner”.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Earthquake Fundraiser Dinner & Republic Day Reception. Over 80 guests joined us and supported our initiative with their contributions. Our efforts at UAlbany will continue till November 21st, and then raised money will be donated to the Turkish Red Crescent Society through the Van Earthquake Relief Fund established by the Assembly of Turkish American Associations.
