Indoor Soccer League

Turkish Student Association has organized an indoor soccer league for its members and interested individuals during cold winter months of spring 2010 semester. The league is non-competitive, open to all, and free of charge. Scheduled games will take place at UAlbany’s Bubble, an air-supported hard surface sports facility located east of Physical Education Building in uptown campus. All are welcome to join to engage in a healthy fun activity and to meet some new friends.

The story of one family in a small Mediterranean town in summer. Told mostly from the perspective of the youngest son Ali, the narrative is structured on the tensions between the father, Mustafa, and other members of the family. Mustafa is an authoritarian lemon merchant but when he experiences a cerebral hemorrhage the whole family is forced to accept new responsibilities. (BTFF) (IMDb) Refreshments will be served.

Spanning a period of 25 years, the film recounts the experiences of the three families as they struggle to find their feet in alien surroundings. It is a film that condemns all of discrimination or otherization and argues that war,fighting and contempt for anyone unlike oneself are the very problem itself... Local Newspaper Features Turksa President

Turkish Student Association President Asil Özdoğru was featured in a news story about international students in the United States by the local newspaper, Times Union.

The story by staff writer Scott Waldman, "An offshore educational experience: Region's schools look to attract growing pool of foreign students," which appeared on TU's Friday, November 27th Capital Region section sampled Asil's perceptions and experiences of UAlbany as a representative of international students community in the campus.

Devrim Arabaları "Revolution Cars"
Docudrama recreation of the race by the engineers of the State Railroad Directorate at Eskişehir, following the 1961 coup d'état by Cemal Gursel, to build the first Turkish automobile. A simple yet successful procedural approach to great effect to follow the production of the "Devrim" car from its inception to it's bittersweet final test whilst never losing track of the fascinating characters behind its creation in a surprisingly moving story.
